The UAE Used-Car Checklist That Saves Real Money
The price is only the start. Insurance, registration, tyres, service history and finance terms can change the deal fast.

A used-car price can look attractive until the hidden costs arrive. Insurance, registration, tyres, service history, inspection findings and finance terms can all change the deal. The cheapest car on the listing page is not always the cheapest car to own.
Before you agree on price
Ask for service history, accident records where available, tyre age, battery age, warranty status and a current inspection. Get an insurance quote before committing, especially for higher-value or performance models. If financing is involved, compare the total payable amount, not only the monthly figure.
A clean-looking car with overdue maintenance can become expensive quickly. A slightly higher purchase price can be better value if the basics are documented.
The handover check
Before handover, confirm both keys, registration status, fines, Salik account transfer where relevant and any accessories or service packages promised in the negotiation.
The best used-car bargain is the one that remains a bargain after the paperwork.
